University of Dayton Lecturer in Communication
The Department of Communication, University of Dayton, invites applications for a full time Lecturer beginning August 16, 2016. This position is a one-year non-tenure track appointment, and has the possibility of renewal. The person appointed to this position will teach a variety of courses within the department, including an introductory oral communication course grounded in dialogue, explanation, and persuasion; research methods; an integrated social science course; nonverbal communication; small group communication, and could include other courses based on department need.
Required: PhD in communication or a related field, a minimum of two years teaching experience as instructor of record at the college or university level with a proven record of effectiveness.
Preferred: Teaching experience in introductory and upper level communication courses, expertise in dialogue and civil discourse, experience teaching diverse students, effective classroom management skills, strong interpersonal skills, successful experience working collaboratively with others, strong oral communication skills; demonstrated success working independently, sensitivity to Catholic and Marianist values.
