- Crane, J. (2020). Rhythmic interventions, musical returns: The health benefits of music as an embodied, everyday practice. Health Communication.
- Dr. Pamela Kaylor, Dr. Candice Thomas-Maddox, and Dr. Laurie Lach were awarded a $10,000 grant from the Women’s Fund of Central Ohio. This grant will be used to do the study, “The Status of Women in Southeast Central Ohio”. This is also the first grant awarded by the WFCO at Ohio University.

- Dr. Sarah Jones published an article, Negotiating Transgender Identity at Work: A Movement to Theorize a Transgender Standpoint Epistemology, in the latest issue of Management Communication Quarterly.
- Dr. Lynn Harter published an article, Narrating across the lifespan: Temporal pressures, aesthetic presence, and consummation of the other, in Liminalities: A Journal of Performance Studies with a former student who is now an assistant professor at James Madison University.
- Congratulations to Carson Kay whose paper, Teaching Tensions & Transcendent Eloquence: The Graduate Student Instructor’s Navigation of Political Difference in the Classroom, was selected as the Top Student Paper in Political Communication at Southern States Communication Association.

Carson Kay had two paper accepted at Southern States Communication Association: Teaching Tensions & Transcendent Eloquence: The Graduate Student Instructor’s Navigation of Political Difference in the Classroom and Social Media Spectacle: Reconceptualizing the Medium and the Message of Online Political Spectacles
Dr. Angela M. Hosek published with a team of Basic Course Directors, a multi-year project, on Measuring Essential Learning Outcomes for Public Speaking in the Basic Communication Course Annual. The project was funded by an NCA Advancing the Discipline grant and profiles numerous measures as to the ways in which they can be mapped on to essential learning outcomes for the fundamentals course.
Dr. Angela M. Hosek, Grace Oforiwa Sikapokoo and Iman Ikram received the Top Panel in the Basic Course division from Central States Communication Association.
Ritika Popli and Elizabeth M. Jenkins have the Top Panel in the Communication & Technology division from Central States Communication Association.
Dr. Jerry Miller was elected to serve a three term as a board member on the Ohio Debate Commission.
